The real top varieties which were the champion in both Breeding and Positional trials in the foreign trial schedule of HZPC, including Greece, now are ready to be introduced commercially in many countries.
Before this, a commercial name is given by the breeder and the procedure of registration in the E.U. variety list is followed.
Due to the fact that the varieties are new, only limited quantities of seed is available.
Every year, we get From HZPC few quantities seed samples of these new varieties, which we deliver free of charge to skilled farmers in different areas, in order to be cultivated next to their commercial varieties. Field signs with HZPC logo and the variety name are installed in these demonstration (demo) fields. By this way, the farmer is able to compare the performance of the new varieties with the one he cultivates.
From our side, we follow up very closely the development and performance of the varieties in these demos and open days, in which farmers are invited, are organized at the right time for the successful ones.
By this way, the interest of the farmers for the new modern varieties is stimulated and their commercial introduction starts….
