Snacking has always been with us, but these days it must be responsible. HZPC already
takes this into account when developing varieties for the crisps sector. Breeding varieties
with high resistance to environmental stresses and opportunistic organisms reduces the
need for crop protection agents and is a major move toward heightened levels of food
safety. The consumer will prefer to eat pure and natural snacks.
Achievement of perfect dry matter content of our crisping potatoes, is the result of many years of research in close co-operation with our breeders, growers and industry colleagues. We still strive to develop new varieties with enhanced characteristics, in order to obtain the perfect, round potato variety for a high net yield of delicious, crispy crisps.
